Some people would like to take their own pictures and set it as home or lock wallpaper, some person like customized their favorite photos as wallpaper. Whatever you choose though, wallpaper is one part of our electronic age.

Wallpaper Problem

After selecting a photo from “My Pictures,” and electing to transfer it as WALLPAPER, the photo is tranferred only as a size 5″ x 7″ or so. This has occurred since reloading MSOffice. How can I get that WALLPAPER back to full-screen size?

Windows offers several ways to display your wallpaper (also known as your desktop background). You can tile the image, so that it fills the screen by repeating itself. You can center the image, leaving empty space around it if the image is too small or the wrong shape. Or you can have Windows blow up and stretch the image so that it fills the screen. (Windows 7 offers more options than these.) Wallpaper problemWallpaper problem

If you only pick images that are the same shape as your screen and at least the same size, the options have no effect; all of these choices will result in a single image filling the screen. Only when you pick something smaller or of a different shape does it matter.

Here’s how to change this setting in XP, Vista, and Windows 7:

XP
Right-click the desktop and select Properties. Click the Desktop tab. If you want the image will fill the screen, select Stretch from the Position pull-down menu.

Vista
Right-click the desktop and select Personalize. Click Desktop Background. Select an option under How should the picture be positioned? The first one will fill the screen with the picture.

Windows 7
Right-click your desktop and select Personalize. Click Desktop Background near the bottom of the window, sort of to the left. In the lower-left corner, you’ll find a largish pull-down menu called Picture position. To fill the screen, pick either Fill or Stretch, depending on which result most pleases your eye.

Can I Spread Wallpaper Across Multiple Monitors?

I have background wallpapers that are 3360×1050 Dimension that I want to use across a dual monitors setup, when I set background image, I get the same image on each monitor instead of 1 image across both.
Also my screen saver only works on 1 monitor and not both. It is already set to extend the displays I have the Radeon HD 5450 video card with dual HDMI outputs two HP2509 monitors.
Could you give me some help with this ?

The first thing you need is a large enough photo. How large? As wide as the two monitors put together, and as high as the tallest of the two. For instance, if one monitor is 1600 x 900 and the other 1366 x 768, the picture’s resolution must be at least 2966 x 900. If the picture is larger than that, part of the image won’t be visible.
